Arkarna
If, for one time, it is the better part to bee a girl...
Arkarna was found next to her dead mother at the age of one month. In July, she was three months old and has enchanted us. The beginning of a big love for these wonderful asian bears - in particular the Malyen Bears are also know on the more poetic name "Sun Bear" .
We hope that Arkarna later will be part of the femal group of sunbears that live in a large enclosure.
If she were a male she would habe the same fate like the 21 male sunbears in Samboja Lestari, which vegetate in tiny cages since 2006.
This are the enclosures for the quarantaine. They are simular to the male enclosures.
